Since arriving in California I have been lucky enough to keep working in the field of my choice. I have designed and built many homes and additions with the emphasis on quality and design. The quality is not only skin deep, it goes right to the bone, the foundation.
Design shapes the space we live in, and tends to shape us too, kind of. Time spent in the design phase can be the most valuable in the whole project. Of course, cost is important too. I believe in keeping costs down, and in always delivering more than expected.
Most important, I started out as a craftsman and still focus on fine craftsmanship.
Before Coming To California:
I quit my job teaching at Trenton High School in September 1973 so I could finish converting an old Dutch barn into a house. .I had moved it from Flemington, New Jersey to New Hope Pensylvania during the summer vacation.
Construction has been in my blood since studying under Palmer Sharpless, a well known craftsman in Bucks Co. and instructor at the George School in New Town, Pa. I have been building ever since. I came to California in 1977 and worked as a carpenter. One thing led to another and I found myself building floating homes, or house boats, in Sausalito. I designed and built twenty one of them.
After that I started remodeling and building houses in Sonoma County, Ca..
